MODERNISING AN C18TH LYMINGTON HOUSE IN A NATIONAL PARK

‘Contentious Planning’ on this Listed C18th House resolved in unusual circumstances.

This single skinned traditional House was one of only eight local 19th century houses with extant original features. It sat on low land near the salt flats with a high water table – presenting interesting dilemmas for the planting plan! We added a Conservatory, rebuilt, renovated, refurbished, restored & replaced as much as the local authority would allow in the National Parks.

The transitions between spaces inside the house have worked extraordinarily well. Blurring the boundaries between house, terraces & garden.
