perfect & holistic design in the hampshire national parks
‘Alterations to a Woodland House’ connects family spaces to the inspired terrace & garden design.
A perfectly nice family house, set quite low in its curtilege, with low doorways did not connect with its terrace, garden & pastures. We were asked to open up the kitchen & family sitting area into a Conservatory that brought the light & garden into everyday life.
Inspirational garden design pushed back the immediate terrace - out to connect with the pool and the lawns. Radical changes to the curtilege included introducing a series of shallow spherical sweeping grass steps, which ripple outwards from the house to the newly planted 500 trees in the woodland beyond the meadow.
